Bornholms Bioenergi
Bornholm Bioenergi (formerly Biokraft), was built by Bioscan as a project in 2006/2007 on the initiative of Østkraft.
The purpose was to improve the environmental impact of the use of manure.
Bigadan took over the company at the end of 2018, after which the plant underwent a thorough renovation, which included new gas engines, pasteurization tanks, heat exchangers, pumps and biofilters for air purification.
The plant receives manure, deep litter and fiber from local farmers as well as category 3 waste from Danish Crown. The biogas is used to produce electricity and district heating in the plant's gas engines.
