September 30 - Bigadan co-operates with Dong Energy, Novo Nordisk and Novozymes
In a new project, Dong Energy and Bigadan will utilize the waste products from Novo Nordisk and Novozymes' insulin and enzyme production. The goal is to use the waste products in a full scale biogas plant which will be built and owned by Dong Energy and Bigadan.
In the first stage of the project, Bigadan will study the gas potential of, among other things, fermentation waste in a test plant with a digester size of 20-30 m³. A part of the test plant is shown in the picture above. The plant is situated at Herning Bioenergi's plant in Sinding.
When the results of the tests are ready during 2016 it will be decided whether the full scale plant will be carried out. According to plan, the plant will be placed close to Dong Energy's plant in Kalundborg and will be able to receive 250.000 tons of waste products from Novo Nordisk and Novozymes’ factories.
